The Directorate for Agrarian Payments, the first specialized institution that exclusively deals with subsidies in agriculture, provides access to funds that are provided in the budget of the Republic of Serbia, but also to programs of international subsidies for agricultural policy in the Republic of Serbia.
In accordance with the Law on Agriculture and Rural Development, the types of subsidies are:

• direct payments: subsidies for production, regressions, support to non-commercial agricultural farms.
• market subsidies: export subsidies, storage costs, credit support.
• structural subsidies: rural development measures, improving the protection and quality of agricultural land, measures of institutional support

IPARD – Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance in rural development

IPARD is a special instrument for support in the field of rural development from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance. From this instrument, the Republic of Serbia can count on the investment support in the amount of EUR 175 million for the period from 2014 to 2020, and the investment support in the amount of EUR 288 million euros for the period from 2021 to 2027.

The Serbia Competitive Agriculture Project (SCAP)

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management in cooperation with the World Bank in 2021 presents a new financing model, known as 50:40:10, to strengthen micro, small and medium agricultural producers and enterprises, and improve agricultural production and competitiveness through the Project competitive agriculture of Serbia. The mentioned project is actually a part of a new approach in agriculture and will provide support to agricultural producers, small and medium enterprises, who want to learn, improve and develop their capacities and transfer knowledge from agricultural to entrepreneurial approach with agricultural resources. The project will also provide support to agricultural development institutions in the Republic of Serbia by working on capacity building and helping them reduce costs through the use of ITC technology, sustainable access to the environment and effective results, and connecting farmers with banks and the market.
The project of competitive agriculture in Serbia is being implemented in the period from 2021 to 2024.
